Si la reivindicación feminista y el activismo político fueron tendencia en las pasarelas internacionales el año pasado (no tanto en las españolas), parece que este año la moda es epatar al personal a base de complementos imposibles.
En Milán, Gucci ha sorprendido con un extraño espectáculo sobre una pasarela imitando un quirófano que ha incluido, atención, modelos desfilando con réplicas de sus cabezas a modo de bolso. Pero no ha quedado ahí la cosa, no: también se han visto modelos portando pequeños dragones, camaleones o serpientes y algunos luciendo un tercer ojo en la frente o las manos. No está muy claro qué quería expresar Alessandro Michele, el director artístico de Gucci, con esta nueva colección, pero es de aplaudir el excelente trabajo de la empresa de efectos especiales Makinarium: las cabezas son de verdad inquietantes.

La Semana de la Moda de Nueva York también nos ha dejado momentos surrealistas. La que más ha dado que hablar es la marca surcoreana Kaimin. Sus modelos desfilaron luciendo una gran variedad de merkins. ¿Y qué es un merkin?, os preguntaréis. Pues una peluca que simula el vello púbico. Su intención, transmitir un mensaje de “diversidad y tolerancia”, según el comunicado de prensa que han difundido. Parece que con estos postizos inspirados en el punk y los mohicanos querían “representar que la aceptación de la individualidad es la vagina humana” y que “todas las diferencias, incluso si no se comprenden completamente o no se está de acuerdo con ellas deben ser toleradas; todas las criaturas merecen espacio bajo el sol”.
